The fourth industrial revolution has emerged with Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) at its core. We can find CPSs in critical domains such as healthcare, energy, manufacturing & logistics. Novel interactions of embedded systems, networking equipment, cloud infrastructures, and humans characterise CPSs. But, these novel interactions make uncertainty inherent in CPSs. Improving the dependability of CPSs under uncertainty requires novel approaches. The U-Test project aims at developing such novel approaches for testing CPSs under uncertainty. The project’s scientists and industrial tool developers have developed systematic, extensible, and configurable Model-based and Search-based Testing Methodologies & tool chains for:
– modelling uncertainties at various levels (relying on existing modelling/testing standards);
– discovering unknown uncertainties;
– generating cost-effective test cases to test CPSs under known and unknown uncertainties.
